By land, you can travel to Greece via Italy or the Western Balkans route (some also travel via Turkey). There are ferry connections from Kavala, Thessaloniki and Athens, for example.
Flights from D/A/CH are currently mostly available as connecting flights via Athens or Thessaloniki (travelling time between 4 and 6 hours) with airlines such as Aegean, Lufthansa and SkyExpress. There is a direct flight from Innsbruck/Austria on Friday mornings from 17.5.2024 to 06.09.2024.
And for the adventurers among you: You can take a cheap direct flight to Izmir/Turkey. From there, take the bus to Ayvalik (approx. 2h/8 EUR) and then the speedboat to Lesvos (50 min/30 EUR).
The travel agency ‘Travel and More’ in Germany, for example, can help you with your flight bookings. They offer a 24-hour emergency hotline (!) and the option of booking flight quotas for groups (of 10 people or more) - very interesting.

If you book flights independently, check if you have a connected flight ticket. Your baggage will then be checked through automatically and you will be entitled to onward carriage if your flight is cancelled. If you book two different airlines, you will have to collect your baggage at the connecting airport, check it in again and go through security again. If your flight is delayed, you are responsible for onward transport.
In addition to the usual search platforms, it is worth taking a look at booking.com to search for flights. They often have the best offers at the moment.
Our tip: Sign up for the Aegean Airlines and Sky Express newsletter. You will regularly receive discount offers, which are often only valid for the registered e-mail address. It's worth it!
If you need a hire car, scooter or donkey, we will be happy to help you with the booking.
